About the role

Role Overview

QA Test Engineer (full-time, remote) Join the Engineering Department to ensure high standards of quality, reliability, and performance across software products for professional tax preparers.

Responsibilities

Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Perform manual and automated testing to ensure software quality
Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools
Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria
Run regression, functional, usability, and performance testing
Verify bug fixes and ensure issues are resolved before releases
Participate in sprint planning and other Agile processes
Provide feedback on product usability and overall quality
Maintain clear testing documentation and reports

Requirements

1–3 years of experience in software testing or QA
Strong understanding of testing methodologies and QA processes
Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira or Bugzilla)
Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail or Zephyr)
Basic knowledge of SQL and databases for data validation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
