About the role
Role Overview
QA Test Engineer for a federal program supporting the FDA Regulated Product Submission (RPS) initiative. Remote environment with location listed as Ashburn, VA. Current FDA badge required. 1-year contract.
Responsibilities
- Execute functional, integration, and data verification testing (manual and automated)
- Support test strategy by maintaining test data, test scripts, and release artifacts
- Identify opportunities to improve test automation (including Selenium and AI-assisted development tools)
- Perform source-to-target data verification to validate data accuracy, integrity, and consistency
- Conduct data migration testing (primarily straightforward datasets; some complex scenarios)
- Support performance testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner (load/stress/scalability)
- Document test results, defects, and produce test reports
- Contribute to QA process improvement and QA best practices
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years hands-on application testing and test script development
- 3+ years with database schemas, entity-relationship diagrams, and data verification
- 3+ years with web service verification tools: Postman or SoapUI
- 3+ years with database query tools: PostgreSQL or DBeaver
- 3+ years with automation frameworks: Selenium
- 3+ years with performance testing tools: JMeter or LoadRunner
- Ability to translate functional/data requirements into SQL procedures/functions
- Experience with automated testing, usability testing, and accessibility tools (e.g., WAVE, NVDA)
- Ability to work in Agile teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Python
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex)
Compensation & Logistics
- $125,000 – $135,000 base salary range (final depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance)
- Ashburn, VA / Remote
- US work authorization required (no sponsorship)
