QA/SDET Engineer (Nearshore)

Role Overview

Tential Solutions is hiring a Nearshore Senior QA Engineer (Mexico-based) for a fully remote team. You will own end-to-end quality within a full-stack lending squad, working closely with engineers and product to “shift left,” catch issues early, and build the test infrastructure that enables confident releases.

Responsibilities

• Test Strategy & Ownership
  • Own the end-to-end QA strategy across the platform: frontend (Next.js), backend (C#/.NET), and integrations.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, integration, and E2E scenarios.
  • Define and enforce quality gates in the CI/CD pipeline so nothing ships without passing agreed standards.
• Integration & API Testing
  • Lead QA coverage for critical third-party integrations including:
    • Credit bureaus: Experian, Equifax, TransUnion
    • Dealer systems: DealerTrack, RouteOne
    • Fraud and verification providers
  • Validate REST API contracts including retry logic, idempotency, and edge cases.
• Loan Origination Workflow Testing
  • Test DEFI Solutions loan origination flows such as scorecards, rules, decision flows, and operational data.
• Collaboration & Process
  • Embed with the squad: participate in sprint planning, story grooming, and design reviews.
  • Partner with the Tech Lead to align QA practices with engineering standards.
  • Act as the quality voice, advocating for end-user impact and platform integrity.
  • Serve as a bridge to US-based stakeholders with strong English communication.

Tooling & Automation

• Build and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar tools.
• Use AI-assisted testing tools to increase coverage and reduce manual work.
• Own test environments, test data management, and QA documentation.

Requirements (Must-Haves)

• 5+ years of QA engineering experience in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Strong automation experience with Playwright/Cypress (or equivalent).
• API testing proficiency: Postman or REST Assured (or similar).
• Experience testing complex integrations/third-party vendor systems.
• SQL proficiency to validate data at the database level (e.g., PostgreSQL or SQL Server).
• AWS familiarity (cloud environments and containerized deployments).
• Strong English communication for daily standups and US stakeholder collaboration.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience testing Loan Origination Systems (DEFI Solutions or similar).
• Background in auto finance/lending/regulated industries.
• Performance/load testing experience.
• CI/CD pipeline experience (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• AI-assisted testing tooling experience.

Logistics

• Fully remote, no travel required.
• Standups at 9:30am CST (Mexico timezone friendly).
• Possible team offsite every 6 months (Phoenix or East/West Coast).
• Mexico-based role with no visa/work authorization requirements mentioned.
