About the role

Role Overview

QA Engineer for zyBooks, a web-based STEM learning platform supporting large-scale, configurable software systems and services. You will design, execute, and own quality assurance processes for the zyBooks web platform, tools, and interactive activities.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for scalable enterprise applications built with Ember and React
Verify and validate implemented features against wireframes and design documents
Test reusable UI components with focus on scalability, extensibility, supportability, and accessibility
Validate data integrity and perform backend testing using MySQL and Redshift
Define test strategies for distributed systems and cloud-native applications
Integrate and manage automated tests within DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines using CI tools
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver educational technology solutions

Requirements

Experience testing web applications using Responsive Design, JSON, and REST APIs
Proficiency with test automation frameworks such as Selenium and Cypress
Scripting experience in Python or JavaScript to build/maintain automated tests
Familiarity with DevOps principles and integrating automated tests into CI/CD
Experience with SQL, especially MySQL, for data validation and querying
Knowledge of testing distributed systems and cloud-native applications
Experience testing for and adhering to WCAG accessibility standards
