About the role
Role Overview
Seeking an Integration Engineer to support a large-scale federal Salesforce Center of Innovation environment. The work involves designing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and documenting secure integrations across a complex multi-org Salesforce ecosystem supporting high-volume releases.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable integrations across Salesforce and third-party systems (org-to-org, APIs, middleware).
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing integrations to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, administrators, business analysts, architects) to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Create and execute test plans (functional, regression, accessibility, release testing).
- Support deployment activities: sandbox management, release coordination, and production change management.
- Monitor and analyze API connection performance, troubleshoot errors, and implement error handling.
- Maintain detailed documentation: runbooks and integration/system configuration.
- Participate in incident response, perform root cause analysis, and help resolve issues.
- Support modernization initiatives to optimize integration architecture.
- Ensure security policy and governance compliance for integration management.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required for federal contract obligations.
- Current Public Trust clearance/suitability or an active DoD Secret clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S., with residence in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
- 4+ years hands-on experience supporting enterprise application integrations.
- 2+ years supporting Salesforce integrations (APIs, Connected Apps, service accounts) and Salesforce platform administration/development.
- Proficiency with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, OAuth, SAML, and API security best practices.
- Experience supporting production systems, including incident response, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Government Cloud and/or Shield, Experience Cloud, and/or large multi-org Salesforce ecosystems.
- Knowledge of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Anypoint Studio, Runtime Manager, API Manager, DataWeave).
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical risks/dependencies to stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- MuleSoft Developer or Salesforce integration-focused certifications.
- Experience with Salesforce CLI, Salesforce VS Code extensions, GitLab/GitHub, and DevSecOps pipelines.
