QA Engineer

Role Overview

Join a remote technology team as a QA Engineer / QA Specialist responsible for ensuring the robustness, reliability, and performance of a Fixed Income Corporate Bond Trading platform.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project specifications to create comprehensive test plans and test scenarios
• Develop, execute, and document manual and automated test cases for:
  • Trading
  • Market data
  • Straight-Through Processing (STP) applications
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to validate system integrity
• Use VeriFix (and other tools) to test FIX protocol compliance and maintain automated test scripts
• Troubleshoot issues using log file analysis for root cause identification
• Create and execute database scripts to analyze test results and support testing scenarios
• Identify, report, and track defects through the QA lifecycle and collaborate with development teams for resolution
• Participate in continuous improvement of testing processes and tools
• Coordinate with stakeholders to communicate testing progress and outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience testing Fixed Income electronic trading systems
• Proficiency in SQL (writing and analyzing queries)
• Experience with automated testing and scripting languages
• Strong understanding of application integration and QA types (functional/regression/integration/performance)
• Deep understanding of Fixed Income markets and trading protocols
• Strong troubleshooting skills, including log file analysis
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines; self-motivated and independent

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with VeriFix and FIX protocol testing tooling
• Experience communicating QA status and coordinating with project stakeholders
