QA Engineer (Own the Quality Function)

PocketSuite is looking for a QA Engineer to take ownership of the full quality function end-to-end—building the QA process, test plans, and regression coverage from the ground up.

Role overview

Turn feature specs and Figma designs into thorough test plans
Execute tests independently and drive issues through to resolution
Build a lean QA function with disciplined manual testing while creating an automation and regression strategy for the future

Responsibilities

Own the full QA lifecycle: review PRDs and Figma designs → write test plans → execute → log bugs in Jira → verify fixes → sign off releases
Build and maintain regression tests for core workflows, including:
- Payments
- Scheduling
- Messaging
- Client management
- Forms
- Contract workflows / e-signatures
Identify and implement AI-assisted testing tools and workflows to reduce manual bottlenecks and increase coverage
Establish and document QA processes and infrastructure for a startup environment

Requirements

Experience owning the QA function (not just participating in an existing process)
Comfort with being the last line of defense before releases
Ability to do disciplined, methodical manual testing today
Experience evaluating/selecting/implementing QA tools in a startup context

Nice to have

Startup experience where QA was built from scratch
Experience building regression suites and automation frameworks (or laying the infrastructure for them)
Familiarity with AI-powered testing workflows and tooling
