QA Engineer

Role Overview

PlanHub is seeking a proactive QA Engineer to join its Quality Engineering team. You’ll help ensure high-quality software delivery by owning end-to-end testing across releases, partnering with engineering and product to validate requirements, and preventing regressions.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end manual and automated testing across web and mobile platforms.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA peers to validate requirements and acceptance criteria within the sprint cycle.
• Investigate, document, and report defects, reproduce issues, verify fixes, and prevent regressions.
• Create and maintain test cases, test plans, and regression suites (e.g., Zephyr Scale).
• Improve the SDLC and release processes by shifting quality checks earlier and driving QA best practices.
• Perform test result analysis and root cause analysis; provide actionable insights for stability and user experience.
• Write and execute SQL queries for data validation and backend/API verification.
• Identify test automation opportunities and expand automated regression coverage using Playwright.
• Track and communicate QA metrics / quality KPIs (e.g., defect trends, regression coverage, test execution velocity).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or employer may accept a Master’s degree plus 1 year related QA experience as an alternate path).
• 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering in a SaaS or web-based platform environment.
• 2+ years writing SQL queries and validating data integrity in MySQL (or similar relational databases).
• Experience with manual and exploratory testing, including isolating complex issues across frontend, backend, and API layers.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools such as Jira and Zephyr Scale.
• Experience testing RESTful APIs using Postman (integration and data accuracy).
• Ability to troubleshoot root causes and communicate findings to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple testing initiatives in a fast-paced release environment.
• Continuous improvement mindset; contribute to QA best practices.
