QA Engineer

Role overview

NinjaOne is hiring a QA Engineer to ensure high-quality releases for its automated endpoint management SaaS products. You’ll work closely with software development teams to validate new functionality and help improve QA practices using deep systems, OS, and networking expertise.

What you’ll be doing

• IT Operations Expertise: Become an in-house expert on NinjaOne’s IT software solutions and provide feedback on usability and user requirements.
• Quality Testing & Troubleshooting: Perform comprehensive software testing, create and maintain test plans, and ensure compliance across platforms.
• Documentation: Write detailed QA reports and clearly document defects/issues for development teams.
• Continuous Improvement: Recommend enhancements to QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Collaboration: Partner with developers, product managers, and leadership throughout the SDLC to maintain quality standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of recent experience in roles such as Technical IT Support, Product Support, or Systems Engineering.
• 2+ years scripting in at least one language (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Batch, Python, etc.).
• Experience with at least 2 of 3 OSes: Windows, macOS, Linux, including understanding of OS foundational aspects (e.g., Windows Registry).
• Networking experience with computer networks and network equipment setup/management.
• Database experience including PostgreSQL, SQL, and MySQL.
• Experience setting up/configuring Virtual Machines, with advantageous focus on ESXi and Hyper-V.
• Advantage with virtualization platforms such as VMware Fusion, VirtualBox, Parallels.
• Ability to use command-line and PowerShell tools for system administration.

Nice-to-haves

• Background/degree in technology (Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory).

Location / work style

• Remote (USA): flexible remote working from home if you reside in one of the listed states.
• Hybrid option available with offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL.
