About the role

Role overview

QA Engineer I / II within the Metrology and Analysis Systems Division (MAD) at HTA/Sundayy. You will ensure the quality and reliability of HTA software products including hiRecipe, hi-Frame, and Result Viewer through manual and automated testing.

Responsibilities

Verify and certify software products by developing and executing manual and automated test cases
Create traceability matrices linking test cases to use cases and primary requirements
Perform functional, regression, performance, load, sanity, and negative testing; document defects
Build and maintain automated test scripts (scalable, reusable automation frameworks; e.g., JUnit)
Execute end-to-end testing (smoke, system, regression) to ensure stability and quality
Analyze abnormal measurement values on CD-SEM software; troubleshoot and validate upgrades for compatibility and performance
Produce detailed test reports, documentation, and training materials for internal teams and customers
Collaborate with design, QA, and international teams to review technical documents and validate against specifications
Provide first-line technical assistance to support customer inquiries and troubleshooting
Participate in quality review meetings at the Naka factory (Japan) and contribute to continuous process improvements

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years hands-on software testing experience
Proven manual (functional) testing experience for enterprise applications/platforms
5+ years of recent testing experience on Linux (preferably RHEL/CentOS)
5+ years experience with automated testing frameworks, particularly JUnit
3+ years testing Java/J2EE, application servers (preferably JBoss), message queues, multi-threaded applications, and databases
Experience testing C++ is a plus
Experience in startup/fast-paced environments is advantageous
Willingness to travel up to 30% (including potential international travel to Japan)

Work model / location

Hybrid role: approximately 70% remote and up to 30% travel
