About the role

Role Overview

As a QA Engineer at Bridgeway, you will ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software products using both automated and manual testing. You will work in the SDLC to detect defects early, validate requirements, prevent regressions, and build scalable, repeatable, maintainable automated test solutions that support CI/CD.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business, product, infrastructure, and technical requirements to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify risks, and ensure acceptance criteria are testable and automatable.
  • Define testing strategies aligned with DevOps and CI/CD.
  • Identify test scope, objectives, resources, timelines, and deliverables for automated and manual testing.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reusable automated test cases and test frameworks.
  • Create and manage automated test scripts and suites in Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar platforms.
  • Execute and maintain automated and manual tests, including:
    • Functional
    • Regression
    • Performance
    • Usability
    • Security
  • Initiate/monitor automated test runs, analyze results, and validate test coverage for assigned Scrum teams.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects; partner with developers to troubleshoot and validate fixes.
  • Support Agile/Scrum workflows with user story sizing, test planning, and coverage.
  • Maintain detailed documentation (test plans, cases, frameworks, regression results).
  • Prepare and communicate test results, regression reports, and quality metrics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Improve the automation roadmap by increasing automation coverage and testing efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to QA processes, tooling, and frameworks.
  • Stay current with testing and quality engineering best practices and secure software development trends.

Requirements

  • 4+ years QA experience, including 2+ years in test automation.
  • Proficiency with test automation tools/frameworks (e.g., TestComplete, Playwright).
  • Solid programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong understanding of testing fundamentals, automated testing strategies, quality engineering principles, and test design.
  • Technical foundation in SQL, database concepts, APIs, web apps, and networking.
  • Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks and reusable components.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in large-scale or multi-platform environments.
  • Proficiency working in Agile/Scrum environments.
