About the role
Role Overview
The QA Engineer, Automation (SDET/QA Automation Engineer) will design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for web, mobile, API, and service-layer testing. You will help ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of digital products through automation strategies and continuous testing.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for web, mobile, API, and service-layer testing
- Create robust, maintainable automated test scripts for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and fast feedback
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA to understand requirements and expand test coverage
- Identify, document, and track defects and performance issues; provide clear reports for resolution
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to automation standards, best practices, and process improvements
- Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives
- Build and maintain full-stack automation solutions covering UI, services, and data validation
- Create dashboards/reporting for test results, coverage, and defect metrics
- Mentor junior automation engineers and support knowledge sharing
- Explore innovative automation strategies, including AI-assisted testing and stability enhancements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/IT or related field (or equivalent experience)
- SDET or QA automation experience with a strong development background
- Proficiency in Java (or other object-oriented programming languages)
- Hands-on automation tool experience: Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, NeoLoad, and REST API testing frameworks
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and patterns
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Haves
- Interest in modernizing automation ecosystems with emerging tools and technologies (including AI-assisted testing)
- Experience with performance testing tooling such as NeoLoad
