QA Automation Engineer (Web & Email Testing)

Location: Remote (US) Duration: 12 months (temporary assignment) Pay: $40.00–45.00/hour (hourly)

Role overview

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the quality of digital experiences delivered to pharmaceutical and healthcare clients, including websites, interactive forms, email campaigns, and sales aids. The work is fast-paced and varies day-to-day (e.g., QA an email campaign in the morning, review a website build in the afternoon, verify fixes before end of day). You’ll combine manual and automated testing, with a significant focus on email testing across many email clients.

Responsibilities

• Review developed work against designs to verify visual accuracy and consistency
• Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing for websites and interactive experiences
• Test email campaigns across email clients (e.g., Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, mobile, dark mode)
• Write and maintain automated tests for web projects
• Verify review feedback/comments (via ProofHQ) are addressed before delivery
• Document and communicate bugs clearly to developers
• Improve QA processes and help establish workflows/best practices

Requirements (Must have)

• 3+ years QA experience in a digital/web environment
• Experience with web QA automation frameworks: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar
• Strong cross-browser/cross-device testing skills
• Email testing experience across multiple clients
• Strong visual attention to detail (spacing, alignment, color, typography)
• Basic HTML/CSS understanding to identify root causes
• Clear written communication for bug documentation
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools (automated test generation)
• Experience with visual QA/design comparison tools
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and testing
• Basic Figma navigation (inspect styles/colors/fonts)
• Experience with proof/review tools like ProofHQ
• Experience with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Jira)
• Pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience
• Agency/fast-paced production environment experience

Team & environment

You’ll join a remote interactive department (~30 people) within a ~300-person agency, working with developers and UX/UI designers. The team includes 5 developers and 7 UX/UI designers and delivers interactive sales aids, marketing websites, and high-volume email campaigns.
