About the role

Role Overview

Join Sundayy as a QA Automation Engineer in a full-time 100% remote role (Continental US). You will design and maintain automated testing frameworks for enterprise web applications, APIs, and distributed systems, partnering closely with development teams to improve test coverage and accelerate high-quality releases.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API testing (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium)
Write robust, maintainable automated test scripts for critical business flows and edge cases
Build API automation to validate backend services using REST Assured and Postman/Newman
Create and maintain regression, smoke, sanity, and functional test suites
Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines for reliable execution with every code change
Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing
Use SQL for database validation and end-to-end data integrity checks
Collaborate with developers to improve testability and identify defects early
Support performance testing efforts using JMeter, Gatling, or k6
Maintain detailed test documentation, traceability, and defect tracking
Conduct root-cause analysis on production issues
Align QA automation strategy with DevOps/release management processes
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives

Requirements

4+ years of QA automation experience
Strong hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
Experience automating REST APIs using REST Assured or Postman/Newman
Proficiency in regression/smoke/sanity/functional test suites
Experience integrating automation into CI/CD using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
Solid SQL skills for validation and data integrity checks
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong debugging, problem-solving, analytical, communication, and documentation skills

Nice to Have

Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6
Experience working across web, mobile, and distributed systems
