QA Automation Engineer/ SAP Analytics Cloud/ Remote

Role Overview

Motion Recruitment is hiring for a QA Automation Engineer contract role focused on modern automated testing across UI, API, and backend/database layers in a multi-platform analytics/data cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and expand automated test coverage from a relatively low existing baseline (about 20–30%)—you will be expected to create and improve coverage, not just maintain it.
• Develop and maintain automated tests across:
  • UI / end-to-end testing
  • API testing
  • Backend and database validation
• Partner with engineering to validate features prior to release.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, including aligning with quality gates.
• Plan automation strategy by identifying automation gaps and building a coverage roadmap.

Required Skills

• Playwright for UI and end-to-end automated test development
• Java for test scripting and automation framework work
• AWS cloud experience
• Git for version control and collaborative workflows
• Experience expanding automated test coverage from low baselines
• Hands-on API testing and backend/database validation
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

Desired Skills

• Experience in regulated, government, or national security environments
• Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud (or similar enterprise analytics platforms)
• Knowledge of release management workflows and quality gates
• Experience with cloud-native data platforms or data warehousing tools
• Experience reducing reliance on manual QA through strategic automation planning
