About the role
Role Overview
PolicyBound is hiring a QA Automation Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of its insurance technology platform. You will design, develop, and maintain automated tests for web applications, APIs, and critical business workflows, working closely with Product, Engineering, and UAT.
Responsibilities
- Test Automation: Build and maintain automated test frameworks and suites for APIs, web apps, and key workflows; improve coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency.
- Test Strategy & Planning: Create test plans/cases and define test strategies; identify test data needs for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- API & Integration Testing: Validate REST APIs, third-party integrations, webhooks, and backend services.
- Application Testing: Run manual and automated testing across supported browsers/environments to verify functionality, usability, and performance.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with Product and Engineering.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and fast feedback.
- Collaboration & Code Review: Participate in automation code reviews and improve testability and automation standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain test automation documentation and provide progress/summary reporting.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current on QA automation tools and quality engineering practices and help evolve the quality strategy.
Requirements
- 4+ years QA automation experience across web, mobile, and APIs.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and QA best practices.
- Experience with modern automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber (or similar).
- 2+ years hands-on experience with AWS or Azure DevOps (or similar delivery environment).
- 2+ years experience troubleshooting CI/CD build failures related to automation pipelines.
