Role Overview

QA Automation Engineer II at Juniper Square. You’ll collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and drive manual and automated testing. The role emphasizes product quality, end-user experience, and leveraging AI-assisted workflows to catch edge cases earlier in the SDLC.

What You’ll Do

Review functional specifications and technical design docs; provide feedback and use AI-assisted analysis to identify edge cases or logic gaps early in the SDLC.
Work with developers to identify automation-ready test cases and prototype/scaffold new test suites using AI-powered IDE tools (e.g., Cursor, Augment).
Design, develop, and execute test cases across product features and backend systems.
Maintain and extend automation frameworks (notably Cypress/Playwright/Locust) and use LLMs to refactor code, optimize scripts, and reduce flaky test patterns.
Produce automated test result reports and surface potential quality risks.
Identify, troubleshoot, and track bugs to resolution, using AI tools for root cause analysis and log interpretation.
Advocate for automation by recommending ways to reduce manual QA through automated solutions and AI-driven test generation.
Contribute to team best practices, processes, and problem-solving, including ethical and effective use of AI in QA.

Requirements

2+ years in Software Quality Assurance, with strong expertise testing web applications.
Experience designing, building, and maintaining test automation frameworks for web apps (preferably Playwright).
Proficiency in at least one language: JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
Proactive use of AI-powered tools (e.g., Augment, Cursor, Gemini) to accelerate test authoring and debugging.
Hands-on testing experience for REST and/or GraphQL APIs, including manual and/or automated testing (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, Locust).
Strong understanding of CI/CD and SDLC concepts: code review practices, coverage analysis, continuous testing, and delivery.
Familiarity with Git, Jira, and test management tools (e.g., TestRail).

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
Knowledge of cloud environments (e.g., AWS) and experience with deployments.
