Python Software Developer - Remote

Role Overview

Join YO AI Labs (via a customer team) as a Senior Software Engineer (Contract, Remote). You’ll help train next-generation AI systems by engineering high-quality, real-world inputs that improve how models learn, reason, and perform. No prior AI experience is required—your software engineering and domain knowledge are what matter.

Responsibilities

• Apply strong engineering skills to build and improve components used in AI training workflows.
• Develop features and refactor existing codebases for maintainability.
• Debug complex software issues and deliver robust solutions.
• Optimize systems for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ideally in remote environments).
• Participate in rigorous code reviews and contribute to software best practices.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python 3, Java, Rust, or TypeScript (one or more primary).
• Strong asset: experience with C++ or Go.
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience building maintainable software and refactoring codebases.
• Track record of optimizing for performance/scalability.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• Experience with large-scale distributed codebases.
• Familiarity with modern AI/ML systems (not required).
• Experience contributing to code review practices and engineering best practices.
