About the role
Role Overview
You will help train next-generation AI systems by applying advanced software engineering to how models learn, reason, and perform. The position is remote and is contract focused on delivering maintainable, high-performance software.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve software features that support next-generation AI systems.
- Refactor and maintain existing codebases.
- Debug complex software issues and deliver robust fixes.
- Optimize performance and scalability through tuning and engineering improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
- Participate in rigorous code reviews and help uphold software best practices.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python 3, Java, Rust, or TypeScript (one primary).
- Strong additional experience in C++ or Go is a plus.
- Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience debugging complex issues and delivering maintainable solutions.
- Proven ability to implement features and refactor codebases.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale distributed codebases.
- Familiarity with modern AI/ML systems (not required).
- Experience contributing to best practices through code reviews.
