About the role

Role Overview

You will join a client’s Content Platform team as a Senior Backend Engineer (Contractor) to help migrate backend functionality from a legacy Python monolith to modern Golang services owned by multiple Product teams.

Responsibilities

Migrate and refactor existing Python logic into Golang services owned by other teams
Rapidly learn and adapt to internal tools, systems, and processes used by the Content Platform team
Collaborate across teams to ensure smooth delivery
Debug complex issues quickly and communicate clear, actionable fixes
Maintain high-quality, well-tested code with thorough validation
Improve migration tooling by identifying and implementing enhancements

Requirements

5+ years of backend development experience (ideally in a fast-paced environment)
Strong expertise in Golang and Python
Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar tools and systems
Strong collaboration and communication skills for distributed teams

Contract Details

6-month contract
100% remote with either full remote or at least 5 hours overlap with PST
