About the role

Role: Python Developer (Remote)

You will build and extend LLM-powered agentic systems and FastAPI microservices that transform natural-language requests into structured, high-precision outputs.

What you’ll work on

Agentic extraction and intent/domain handling in Python (intent classification, domain-specialist agents, agentic extraction flows)
Natural-language-to-structured-payload pipelines that produce JSON query payloads (filters, exclusions, rankings, metric selection)
Semantic search / vector retrieval integration (embedding-based entity resolution, fuzzy matching, confidence thresholds, disambiguation flows)
FastAPI microservices with async orchestration across parallel LLM and API calls
Prompt engineering with structured output enforcement (JSON schema, function calling/tool use, guardrails)
Evaluation harnesses: build test sets, measure extraction accuracy, and regression-test prompt/model changes
Integrate with metadata/catalog services, entitlement-aware data access, and reporting-engine payload contracts
Collaborate across service teams; maintain clear technical documentation (Confluence, ADRs, diagrams)

Must-have requirements

5+ years professional Python (advanced); production-grade engineering with typing, pytest, packaging, and code review discipline
1.5+ years production GenAI/LLM development (not just POCs) using APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Bedrock, or similar
Agent frameworks/patterns: LangChain/LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or equivalent orchestration; tool/function calling; multi-step agent flows
Structured output extraction: JSON schema enforcement, Pydantic, and retry/repair strategies
RAG / vector search: embeddings, chunking, hybrid search, reranking; e.g., pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, OpenSearch, or warehouse-native vector functions
FastAPI (or Flask/Django with strong API design), async Python, REST integration patterns
SQL proficiency working with large analytical datasets
Git, CI/CD, Docker; comfortable in cloud environments (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP acceptable)
Strong communication with engineering teams and product owners

Nice-to-have

Comfort working with metadata/catalog services and entitlement-aware data access patterns
