Python Developer

Role Overview

Contract AI Python Engineer for a hands-on role building and delivering features across the full stack for an enterprise AI-powered semantic layer.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver features across frontend and backend (React + Python/FastAPI)
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services
• Optimize performance of APIs, database queries, and UI components
• Debug and resolve production issues
• Integrate and orchestrate AI/ML components (LLMs, embeddings, semantic search)
• Work with microservices and distributed systems for scalability and reliability
• Implement data/ETL pipelines on AWS

Required Skills

• Python (FastAPI / Django / Flask)
• RESTful API design and implementation
• SQLAlchemy ORM
• Async programming (async/await)
• AI/ML integration using LangChain or LLM orchestration frameworks
• OpenAI API integration
• Prompt engineering and embeddings
• Semantic search implementation
• Graph databases such as Neo4j and Cypher
• Cloud & infrastructure: AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, and EKS
• Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
• CI/CD with Jenkins / GitLab / GitHub Actions
• Architecture: microservices, system design, scalability/performance/reliability
• Data engineering: AWS Glue or Apache Spark
• ETL/ELT pipeline development

Nice-to-Haves

• Specialized experience with semantic-layer architectures and multi-service graph + vector/LLM systems

Experience

• 14+ years experience required
