Python Developer

Role Overview

Senior Python Engineer (Data Platform) for a fully remote team working on a central investment data warehouse. You will build and optimize data platforms and services that support research, trading, analytics, and portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data platforms and services
• Develop and optimize end-to-end data pipelines (ingestion → validation → delivery)
• Build high-performance APIs and data transfer systems
• Partner with product, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions
• Improve data architecture and ETL pipelines
• Ensure data quality, consistency, reliability, availability, and performance
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing, and documentation
• Participate in code reviews and system design discussions
• Troubleshoot and support production systems and live environments

Requirements

• 5+ years of Python experience (open-source ecosystem preferred)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with large datasets
• Experience building APIs and distributed systems
• Solid understanding of data engineering concepts and pipeline design
• Ability to build high-performance, scalable applications
• Strong software design principles (e.g., SOLID, DDD)
• Write well-tested, maintainable code
• Familiarity with security best practices
• Comfortable working in Agile/fast-paced environments

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with modern/open-source tooling in Python data engineering and APIs

Remote / Location

• Fully remote, but candidates must be based in North Carolina, Texas, or California.
