Python Developer - Remote

Role Overview

Join a remote customer team as a Backend Python Developer (AI Expert). You will design and improve robust backend APIs and collaborate with cutting-edge AI research to test and shape next-generation developer tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable REST and GraphQL endpoints
• Implement data validation, error handling, and API security best practices
• Plan and execute database migrations, performance tuning, and schema changes
• Test new AI-powered models in Cursor, providing feedback via:
  • incident reports
  • bug traces
  • screenshots
• Participate in 4-day intensive testing bursts focused on AI impact in real coding workflows
• Collaborate with the research team in a dedicated Slack channel to discuss findings and propose improvements
• Submit post-burst surveys with insights on model performance and developer experience

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience with strong Python expertise
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs
• Advanced understanding of backend validation, error handling, and API security
• Hands-on experience with database migrations, performance tuning, and schema design
• Extensive use of AI coding tools; Cursor familiarity is highly desirable
• Strong written and verbal communication for clear incident/bug reporting
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, confidential, collaborative remote environment

• Experience designing/evaluating experimental tooling and developer workflows
