Python Developer

Role Overview

Senior Python Developer to design, build, and deploy Python-based applications for client needs. This full-time role is based in Boston, MA (with potential remote flexibility) and requires 8+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable Python applications.
• Create and optimize complex SQL for ETL (data extraction, transformation, and loading).
• Develop and maintain Oracle stored procedures, functions, and related scripts.
• Automate system tasks and workflows using Unix scripting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Apply best practices for code quality, security, and performance optimization.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging.
• Assist with migration/integration of data and applications to AWS (including Redshift).
• Maintain documentation for system architecture and development processes.
• Stay current with industry trends and propose improvements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in Python development and application deployment.
• Proven Oracle database management experience, including PL/SQL and stored procedures.
• Strong Unix scripting experience for automation and system integration.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (deployment and management).
• Ability to write complex SQL queries and move/export/import large datasets.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills; able to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Redshift Native Client Configuration.
