About the role
Role Overview
Python contractor role supporting development, debugging, and issue resolution for existing applications. You will quickly understand current systems, fix defects, and deliver reliable backend improvements.
Responsibilities
- Write, modify, and maintain Python code for existing applications
- Debug and resolve defects in production and non-production environments
- Analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes (must)
- Support API development and troubleshooting (REST services)
- Implement enhancements, bug fixes, and small feature work
- Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and reported issues
- Review logs to debug failures and improve system stability
- Troubleshoot data-related issues using databases
Requirements
- 3–7 years of hands-on Python development experience
- Proven experience debugging and troubleshooting production issues
- Experience with a Python web framework: Flask, FastAPI, or Django
- Strong understanding of APIs and backend services
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
- Good understanding of Git and version control
- Ability to quickly ramp up on existing codebases
Nice to Have
- Cloud experience: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with logs/monitoring tools
- Experience in agile / fast-paced environments
- Basic knowledge of Docker or containerized apps
Logistics
- Location: Remote (EST)
- Rate/Compensation: $60–65/hr (contract)
