About the role
Role Overview
As a Python Developer, you’ll help train next-generation AI systems by working with high-quality, real-world input. No prior AI experience is required—your backend and coding domain expertise is what matters.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize REST and GraphQL endpoints for scalable APIs.
- Drive data validation, error handling, and security best practices in backend services.
- Plan and execute database migrations, optimizations, and schema changes.
- Test AI-powered models in Cursor, and submit actionable feedback via:
- incident reports
- bug traces
- screenshots
- Participate in 4-day intensive testing bursts to assess how AI models impact real coding workflows.
- Collaborate with the research team in a dedicated Slack channel.
- Complete post-burst surveys with insights on model performance and developer experience.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years professional experience as a backend developer, strong in Python.
- Proficient with RESTful and GraphQL API development and maintenance.
- Advanced expertise in data validation, error handling, and API security.
- Hands-on experience with database migrations, performance tuning, and schema design.
- Extensive use of AI coding tools; Cursor familiarity is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication, especially for clear incident/bug reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, confidential, collaborative remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Visible open-source contributions (e.g., GitHub stars or contributions).
- Experience designing/evaluating experimental tooling and developer workflows.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for AI advancements in software development.
