Role overview

Contract Python Developer (Python SWE) for real-world production work with AI research labs. Fully remote; 1 month engagement at ~20 hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex, production-grade Python systems
• Design modular, testable codebases using modern Python best practices and tooling
• Build APIs and schemas with FastAPI and Pydantic
• Optimize performance using profiling and memory management
• Collaborate with foundational model AI labs to improve training and evaluation
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines

Requirements

• Experience working at top US tech firms
• Proven track record with complex Python systems
• Deep understanding of core Python fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI and Pydantic and modern Python best practices

Interview process

• 90-minute human interview focused on Python
• No AI IDE allowed; LLMs and Stack Overflow are permitted

Logistics & compensation

• Remote, based on a 1-month duration
• $100/hour hourly contractor rate
