Role Overview

Python Backend Engineer (AWS & Identity Integration) — Remote

You will build secure, scalable backend services with strong AWS serverless expertise and hands-on experience integrating authentication/identity solutions, including Azure Active Directory (Entra ID).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services in Python using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• Build and deploy serverless applications using AWS Lambda and API Gateway
• Design and manage event-driven architectures using S3, SNS, SQS, and EventBridge
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, and JWT
• Integrate applications with Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions
• Collaborate on cloud-native architecture and deployment strategies

Required Skills

• 4+ years of Python backend development
• Strong experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and serverless architecture
• Hands-on REST API and microservices development experience
• Experience with authentication protocols: OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, JWT
• Azure AD / Entra ID integration experience
• Familiarity with AWS services: S3, SNS, SQS, EventBridge
• Understanding of Docker and containerized deployments

Nice-to-Haves / Ideal Background

• Experience building secure, scalable backend systems in cloud environments
• Exposure to both AWS (primary) and Azure
• Strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM)
• Ability to work in distributed, event-driven architectures and fast-paced production environments
