Program Delivery Officer Level 1

Role overview

Program Delivery Officer (Level 1) is responsible for delivering approved general and/or sexual offending programs to offenders assessed as requiring offender intervention programs, supporting community safety through effective program delivery and case management.

Primary accountabilities

• Participate in planning so offenders have timely access to appropriate programs and interventions.
• Prepare offenders for offender intervention programs.
• Deliver offender intervention programs in line with operational plans and evidence-based practice.
• Provide advice on offender program suitability and/or other interventions.
• Monitor offender progress during programs and report progress.
• Comply with program management procedures, standards, and guidelines.
• Identify, respond to, and manage risks arising from offender management.
• Maintain knowledge of contemporary offender program research, practices, and relevant legislation/policy/procedures.
• Participate in case management activities for offenders requiring program participation.
• Provide timely information to relevant sites for case management and ensure continuity across case files.
• Ensure program and assessment records are accurate and current in IOMS (Integrated Offender Management System).
• Administer relevant assessments and analyse assessment results, recording information appropriately.
• Contribute to case management and sentence management activities for offenders.
• Ensure data in IOMS and OPAS (Offender Programs Assessment Service) is accurate and current.
• Maintain records and provide intervention reports and program data to appropriate authorities.
• Provide timely advice to courts, boards, and other agencies.
• Provide program impact reports for courts and parole boards.
• Promote the value of offender programs to agencies and support services.
• Develop productive relationships with service providers and the community to enhance regard for offender programs.

Mandatory requirements

• Tertiary qualification (preferably in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or Behavioural Sciences); other Bachelor degrees may be considered at the recruitment panel’s discretion.
• Membership/affiliation with a relevant professional association (highly regarded).
• Specialisation in the delivery of sexual offending programs.
• Training will be provided to use assessment tools STATIC-99 and STABLE-2000 to allocate sex offenders to appropriate treatment.
