About the role
Role Overview
Strategic Product Owner partnering with Product Management, stakeholders, a ScrumMaster, and an Agile team to translate features into smaller, incremental work items and deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders to understand features and develop incremental user stories and iteration/program deliverables.
- Define and prioritize work with other Product Owners and stakeholders, including dependency identification.
- Own the team backlog:
- Define stories
- Establish story acceptance criteria
- Lead story refinement to prepare for iteration planning and Program Increment (PI) planning
- Support requirement and prioritization within the Product Backlog using:
- Business value / ROI
- Alignment with product strategy
- Resource capacity
- Build relationships with business and product stakeholders and ensure clear, effective communication of essential requirements.
- Assist with integration of programs across channels with internal partners and monitor program effectiveness against target metrics.
- Under general supervision, define and articulate requirements (User Stories) and acceptance criteria (Use Cases).
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (related experience may offset).
- Experience: 2+ years in industry/supporting business or technologies, including Project Management and/or SAFe Product Manager/Owner experience.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Agile and Lean values/concepts and experience with SAFe.
- Ability to break complex ideas into smaller sequential plans while understanding interdependencies.
- Solutions-based problem solving and probing question skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
Preferred / Additional
- Some travel may be required.
- Preferred domicile: Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA; remote locations may be considered.
