Role Overview
Square is hiring a Product Partnerships Manager to lead high-impact product and technology partnerships that help sellers operate more efficiently and grow. The role has a dual focus on Canadian seller partnerships and supporting Square’s product.
Responsibilities
- Partnership Strategy: Create and implement a partner strategy to maximize partnership impact, including the integration experience and the partnership’s economic/commercial viability.
- Sourcing, Negotiation, and Deal Leadership:
- Source, evaluate, and secure product partnerships aligned with Square product priorities.
- Lead negotiations across product/commercial terms, integration scope, and go-to-market (GTM) commitments.
- Structure partnership agreements balancing partner needs with Square product objectives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Lead partner initiatives across Product, Engineering, Sales, Account Management, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Operations.
- Provide structured partner feedback and market insights to influence product and GTM decisions.
- Advocate for partners while maintaining disciplined prioritization and sound business judgment.
- Measurement and Accountability:
- Own the overall integration experience, measuring quality via adoption and usage.
- Use data/insights to refine partner strategy and execution over time.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in business development or partner management (preferably in an innovative commerce or payments company).
- Proven success managing complex end-to-end product partnerships.
- Strong product and business acumen.
- Proficiency in product development, API integrations, and deep knowledge of the commerce ecosystem, especially Canada.
- Strong ability to build C-suite relationships and influence decision-makers; identify internal champions.
- Expert negotiation skills and strong understanding of complex commercial contracts.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and ownership mindset.
