Product Owner

Role Overview

TrueComp is expanding its product organization and hiring a Product Owner to support growth across workforce analytics products: TrueComp Benchmarking, Labor Costing, and TrueComp Intelligence. You’ll be embedded with an agile engineering team as the primary product partner, reporting to the Chief Product Officer and collaborating closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a prioritized product backlog, author user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria
• Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and incorporate customer feedback into product decisions
• Facilitate key agile ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Communicate sprint priorities, release goals, and roadmap commitments to stakeholders across the organization
• Use AI tools (e.g., Claude and comparable solutions) to accelerate requirements, prototyping, user story creation, and discovery
• Partner with Product Management and UX to ensure delivered features meet both customer needs and product strategy
• Collaborate with engineering teams across multiple time zones, including offshore engineering partners
• Contribute to the broader product vision, strategy, and roadmap with product leadership

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years experience as Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in an agile software development environment
• Proven ability to use AI tools in product work (e.g., Claude/ChatGPT) including requirements drafting, prototyping, and discovery
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Proficiency with backlog/roadmap tools such as Jira or Aha!
• Ability to decompose ambiguous business problems into clearly scoped, deliverable increments
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams across the full software development lifecycle
• Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree is a plus)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience supporting offshore/distributed engineering teams
• B2B SaaS experience, especially at a high-growth company
• Domain experience in HR technology, compensation, workforce planning, or government technology
• Prior experience working with public sector customers
