About the role
Role Overview
Product Owner (Agile Product Owner) for digital solutions supporting shared services, common requirements, and platform capabilities. You will be part of an Agile product leadership team, partnering with product management and multiple Scrum teams to translate priorities into delivered increments.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate features into user stories and manage a team backlog: rank, prioritize, and maintain it according to stakeholder needs.
- Support delivery by ensuring stories meet acceptance criteria, including expected quality and performance.
- Work across multiple Scrum teams and other product owners/product managers to implement cross-solution common services/capabilities.
- Drive consistency for reuse and maintainability in implementation.
- Communicate stakeholder needs clearly so the team delivers against contractual requirements and process/service-level commitments.
- Partner with Product Management to discover and deliver solutions to market problems.
- Collaborate with the business to understand and prioritize business needs; plan releases to deliver business value.
- Lead/drive solution concept development, and maintain a solution vision roadmap and backlog through the project lifecycle.
- Write user stories with acceptance criteria; translate product backlog into user stories.
- Act as a Product Management proxy/decision point representing stakeholders.
- Review and accept/reject work during sprints and in sprint reviews.
- Attend sprint ceremonies; be available during the sprint for clarifications and acceptance.
- Contribute to Release planning and present work from the Team Backlog during sprint planning.
- Negotiate Sprint goals with the team.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience writing business and functional requirements and implementing Agile methodologies.
- BS/BA degree (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
- Ability to write user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Strong business analysis / business systems analysis skills.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making, balancing functional and technical details and process flows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building across business and technical teams.
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects with critical timelines.
- Ability to drive consensus among stakeholders with different viewpoints.
- Experience gathering requirements and performing root cause analysis.
- Experience with Agile software development methods (testing background or technical writing/automated testing tools experience is preferred).
- Preferred: ability to manipulate/analyze/interpret data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leading SAFe (SA) certification
- SAFe PM/PO, CSPO/PSPO, or Pragmatic Marketing certification
- Technical proficiency with software fundamentals: platforms, shared services, modernization, especially integration
- Healthcare domain knowledge, specifically Utilization Management and Specialty Benefit Management
- Experience with call center application and workflows
