About the role
Product Owner (Remote - United States)
Type: Contract
Experience: 3–5 years
Responsibilities
- Translate features into user stories and manage their ranking/prioritization in the team backlog based on stakeholder needs.
- Conduct final testing and acceptance of user stories supporting delivered features.
- Collaborate across multiple Scrum teams and with product owners/managers to implement shared/common services and ensure consistency for reuse and maintainability.
- Communicate stakeholder requirements so delivery meets contractual requirements and acceptance criteria (quality and performance).
- Work with the business to understand, rank, and prioritize business needs; plan releases that deliver business value to end users.
- Drive solution concept development and maintain a solution vision, roadmap, and backlog throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as Product Management proxy and decision point for stakeholders.
- Review and accept/reject results during sprints and in sprint reviews.
- Attend sprint ceremonies and be available during sprints for clarifications and acceptance.
- Create and/or contribute to the project release plan; present work from team backlog during sprint planning.
- Negotiate sprint goals with the team.
Required Skills / Qualifications
- Leading SAFe (SA) certification.
- SAFe PM/PO certification or alternatives: CSPO/PSPO or Pragmatic Marketing (preferred).
- Technical proficiency with software fundamentals, especially platforms, shared services, and modernization strategies focused on integration and implementation.
- Healthcare domain knowledge, specifically Utilization Management and Specialty Benefit Management; experience with call center application workflows (required).
- Strong problem solving and decision-making across functional details, technical details, and process flows.
- Strong business analysis and business systems analysis to solve business problems with digital solutions.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills to bridge business and technical teams.
- Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects with critical timelines, and drive consensus among stakeholders.
- Experience gathering requirements and performing root cause analysis.
- Agile software development experience (testing background or technical writer experience / automated testing tools preferred).
Preferred
- Ability to manipulate/analyze data.
- Experience with SQL and tools such as Jira, Jira Align, Aha!, and document/workflow tooling (e.g., DocuShare, Snagit, Daptiv).
