About the role
Role Overview
As a Product Owner, you will own the product backlog and drive alignment between business stakeholders and the development team to deliver banking-domain features.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with business goals
- Collaborate with stakeholders, business teams, and banking SMEs to gather, analyze, and refine requirements
- Break down high-level requirements into Epics, Features, and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Lead backlog grooming/refinement sessions to ensure stories are ready for development
- Drive sprint planning and quarterly planning, including capacity and velocity management
- Partner with Scrum Masters and development teams to support smooth Agile delivery
- Act as the primary business-to-technology contact to ensure clarity and alignment
- Validate delivered features against requirements and confirm they meet business expectations
- Support UAT and help resolve functional queries and defects
- Continuously improve product delivery using feedback, metrics, and Agile best practices
- Ensure compliance with banking standards, regulations, and operational processes
- Apply knowledge of banking systems (including banker/teller tools if applicable) to improve product outcomes
Requirements
- Experience working as a Product Owner in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Ability to translate requirements into User Stories with acceptance criteria
- Stakeholder collaboration skills, including working with business teams and SMEs
- Knowledge/experience in banking domain standards, regulations, and operational processes
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with banker/teller tools and other banking systems
