Product Owner

Role Overview

Junior Product Owner (Remote, 6+ month contract) You will lead delivery of high-impact customer experiences across a Salesforce platform that supports enrollment and incentives for Clean Energy and Income-Qualified Programs. You’ll drive prioritization based on business outcomes, improve team operating practices, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders using an Agile/SAFe model.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, transparent backlog with clear prioritization and minimal churn.
• Ensure user stories meet Definition of Ready, including:
  • strong acceptance criteria
  • non-functional requirements
• Use strong discovery and requirements practices to anticipate gaps early and reduce rework.
• Ensure 2+ sprints of ready user stories; support PI Planning preparation.
• Improve estimation accuracy, planning consistency, and early identification of risks and dependencies.
• Drive Agile ceremonies:
  • refinement sessions
  • product demos
  • continuous improvement and commitment accountability
• Ensure retrospectives lead to real, sustained improvements.
• Ensure work meets Definition of Done with minimal defects and rework; drive root cause analysis and implement quality improvements.
• Raise release readiness and delivery discipline.
• Tie prioritized work to business outcomes and KPIs; track and communicate value delivered vs planned.
• Improve visibility via dashboards and stakeholder reporting.
• Build trusted partnerships across Business, IT, and cross-functional teams; proactively resolve dependencies and align on tradeoffs.
• Develop deep understanding of customer journeys, business processes, and supporting systems; anticipate downstream impacts.
• Support product health, escalations, research, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Product Owner (or equivalent).
• Experience with Salesforce and SaaS platforms.
• Experience in Agile/SAFe with cross-functional teams.
• Strong backlog management, planning cycles, and delivery execution.
• Experience operating in complex, multi-system environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong experience with PI Planning preparation and Scaled Agile execution (implied by SAFe environment).
