Role Overview

Product Owner – Sanctions Screening Payment enablement platform You will lead the product for sanctions screening payment enablement, delivering regulatory-compliant and high-performing capabilities for detection and investigation. The role focuses on owning the product roadmap, metrics, and stakeholder alignment, while continuously improving quality, speed, and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Own vision & roadmap: Define and maintain product vision aligned to regulatory requirements and business goals.
• Outcome-focused delivery: Prioritize features using data and risk-weighted value.
• Backlog management: Translate business and compliance needs into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria; manage a prioritized backlog balancing feature delivery, tech debt, and control enhancements.
• Sprint & release coordination: Lead sprint planning/backlog refinement and coordinate releases with engineering.
• Compliance, risk & controls partnership: Work with compliance/financial crimes to incorporate sanctions policy updates; ensure auditability, evidence capture, traceability, and model governance.
• Validation & change management: Coordinate UAT and production validation with appropriate approvals; manage change management.
• Operational excellence: Drive measurable outcomes such as:
  • Reduced false positives
  • Improved match resolution time
  • High system availability
  • Audit-ready controls

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years in product management / Product Owner roles in regulated financial services or fintech.
• Experience with sanctions screening domains (e.g., watchlist screening for payments/trading clients or reference data).
• Strong grasp of Agile/Scrum, sprint execution, and backlog management.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making.

Preferred/Nice-to-Haves

• Exposure to sanctions lists and regulatory regimes (e.g., OFAC, UK, EU).
• Hands-on experience with screening solutions/components such as:
  • Fuzzy matching
  • Phonetic/linguistic normalization
  • Name/alias resolution
  • Lifecycle management
• Knowledge of screening workflows including case management, disposition, and escalation paths.
• Experience with observability/operational tooling (logs, metrics, dashboards).
• Background in risk and control frameworks, audit processes, and evidence management.
