About the role
Role Overview
Product Owner (Remote) at UnitedHealthcare. You will act as the voice of the business, translating complex business requirements into actionable features, user stories, and product changes. This is a cross-functional liaison role that coordinates/facilitates changes to achieve optimal product and business performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings with line-of-business operational managers to ensure platform direction for each area.
- Create user stories/requirements, work with stakeholders to identify ROI/business value, and lead backlog prioritization.
- Provide high-quality support and documentation for users of the Banking platforms.
- Collaborate with system analysts and architecture to identify solutions meeting business requirements and understand business impact of technical decisions.
- Explain business information and requirements to Agile teams, stakeholders, and managers.
- Present information to leadership to support next-step decisions.
- Actively participate in Agile processes and implement process changes related to Agile.
- Represent business interests and requirements on Agile teams.
- Lead and maintain backlog/inventory of system and business requirements to react to enhancement capacity.
- Provide direction to business analysts and IT resources within the Agile team to maximize value delivered.
- Serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for banking systems: SIFS, OFIN, GEFT.
- Liaise with solution architects, developers, and QA across the project lifecycle.
- Monitor program/project budgets and timelines.
- Ensure test plans thoroughly test functionality (existing and new).
- Assist in resolving production issues.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with project leadership, business, and application teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a capability/process owner/manager, business/product analyst, or in a related field supporting process improvement.
- Experience managing business partners in a matrix organization.
- Experience working directly with senior-level business stakeholders.
Nice-to-Haves / Implied Skills
- Strong knowledge of business processes, particularly in Banking systems.
- Ability to influence product outcomes and ensure alignment to business goals.
- Comfortable partnering with IT and delivery teams to manage timelines, budgets, and outcomes.
