Product Owner (Remote)

Role Overview

The Product Owner acts as the liaison between market needs and delivery. You will own the product backlog end-to-end, partnering with engineering and UX to translate requirements into clear backlog artifacts, while leveraging AI tools to work efficiently at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own and prioritize the product backlog to ensure the team delivers the highest-impact work
• Write and refine epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Use AI productivity tools (e.g., Claude, ChatPRD, Rovo) to produce and improve backlog artifacts
• Plan release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionality
• Ensure stories meet Neumo’s Definition of Done
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, UX, marketing, sales, and customer support to drive successful releases
• Gather and validate requirements through customer and stakeholder engagement
• Work with senior leadership to inform product strategy and report progress/milestones
• Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to guide product decisions
• Facilitate agile ceremonies: sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Monitor/report product performance, quality, and usage metrics

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with Agile and a strong understanding of the SDLC
• 2+ years experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with Jira and/or Azure DevOps, and Figma
• Familiarity with technical solutions/components including APIs, Middleware, Services, and SQL
• Strong written communication and ability to translate between technical and business audiences
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities

Nice to Have

• Public sector / public sector software experience (e.g., tax administration, short-term rental, revenue management)
• Experience with AI tools such as Claude, ChatPRD, Copilot
