About the role
Role Overview
The Product Owner is a key liaison between market needs and delivery. You will own the product backlog end-to-end, producing backlog artifacts and aligning cross-functional teams to deliver the highest-impact work.
Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog to ensure the team delivers the most high-impact items.
- Write epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria with clear, well-structured requirements.
- Use AI productivity tools (e.g., Claude, ChatPRD, Rovo) to efficiently produce and refine backlog artifacts.
- Lead product release planning, setting expectations for new functionality delivery.
- Ensure delivered stories comply with Neumo’s Definition of Done.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, UX, marketing, sales, and customer support to drive successful releases.
- Gather and validate requirements and feedback through customer and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide updates to senior leadership on product progress and milestones; contribute to product strategy.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform product decisions.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies: sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Monitor and report on product performance, quality, and usage metrics.
Requirements
- 2+ years working in Agile with strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with Jira and/or Azure DevOps, plus Figma.
- Experience with AI productivity tools (e.g., Claude, ChatPRD, Copilot).
- Understanding of technical solutions and components: APIs, middleware, services, SQL.
- Ability to create epics, user stories, user journeys, wireframes, and basic diagrams.
- Strong written communication and ability to translate between technical and business audiences.
Nice to Have
- Public sector / public sector software experience.
- Domain exposure to tax administration, short-term rental, or revenue management solutions.
Work Setup
- Remote or office setting; role involves moderate worksite noise, frequent computer use, and communication via phone and video conference.
