Product Owner (Remote)

Role overview

The Product Owner is the key liaison between market needs and delivery. You will own the product backlog end-to-end, collaborating with engineering and UX to ensure the right work is built with clear requirements and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own and prioritize the product backlog to ensure the team delivers highest-impact work
• Write epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Use AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatPRD, Rovo, Copilot) to efficiently create and refine backlog artifacts
• Lead release planning, setting delivery expectations for new functionality
• Ensure delivered work complies with Neumo’s Definition of Done
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, UX, marketing, sales, and customer support
• Gather and validate requirements and feedback through customer and stakeholder engagement
• Inform product strategy with updates to leadership on progress, milestones, and performance
• Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to guide product decisions
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives
• Monitor and report product performance, quality, and usage metrics

Requirements

• 2+ years working in Agile with strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle; preferably as a Product Owner or Business Analyst
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps and Figma
• Experience using AI productivity tools to accelerate story creation and analysis
• Understanding of technical solutions/components: APIs, middleware, services, SQL
• Ability to create epics, user stories, user journeys, wireframes, and basic diagrams
• Strong communication skills across technical and business audiences

Nice to haves

• Public sector or public sector software experience; experience in tax administration, short-term rental, or revenue management
• Strong stakeholder management and motivation to meet deadlines
