About the role
Role overview
The Product Owner (PO) is part of the Product Management Team and owns a small portfolio of 2–3 related products/solutions within a broader go-to-market (GTM) strategy. The PO turns strategic objectives and OKRs into prioritized roadmaps and backlogs, balancing trade-offs across products and ensuring execution drives measurable business and customer outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain strategic product roadmaps for a portfolio of related products aligned to business objectives, customer needs, and the GTM strategy.
- Translate strategy and OKRs into prioritized backlogs and release plans, explicitly handling trade-offs across products (capacity, dependencies, market timing).
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and customers to align on outcomes, surface risks early, and secure buy-in.
- Prioritize enhancements and feature requests using technical feasibility, customer feedback, business impact, and strategic fit.
- Elicit, validate, and document user requirements with engineering; participate in quality assurance to ensure market-ready software.
- Lead initiatives from concept to release across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Gather and analyze data (customer needs, market trends, business goals) to inform decisions at both product and portfolio levels.
- Define, track, and report key product and business metrics; use performance data to recommend course corrections and optimization opportunities.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis, translating findings into roadmap implications.
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders, including executive sponsors, presenting progress, trade-offs, and recommendations focused on outcomes.
- Monitor customer feedback channels (e.g., surveys, reviews, support tickets, advisory councils) to identify themes and validate priorities.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing on product messaging, positioning, and GTM storytelling tied to customer outcomes.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) across multiple delivery teams.
Requirements
- Own roadmaps/backlogs tied to business objectives, OKRs, and customer outcomes.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration across engineering, sales, customer success, and marketing.
- Ability to use data and metrics to defend priorities and guide continuous prioritization.
- Experience with Agile delivery and facilitating core ceremonies across teams.
Nice to have
- Background in market research/competitive analysis and translating insights into product strategy and GTM implications.
