Product Owner

Role Overview

The Product Owner translates business and customer needs into product requirements, user stories, and models. You will serve as the primary Product Owner on agile squads, acting as a liaison between development, support, and RAQA, and using customer feedback to shape the roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Maintain deep, detailed knowledge of the product, users, and indications for use.
• Serve as primary Product Owner on agile squads (including potential SME responsibilities in Risk Analysis and Change Control).
• Manage sustaining engineering prioritization, including escalations.
• Analyze business/user requirements for clarity, completeness, scope, and technical feasibility.
• Decompose Epics and requirements into system/software functional and non-functional requirements and user stories.
• Create user story scenarios and define use case behavior and user roles.
• Produce supplementary specifications for requirements not captured in use cases.
• Ensure requirement documentation stays compliant with quality system definitions.
• Perform requirements modeling and (optionally) develop visual UML diagrams of system functional behavior.
• Ensure requirements coverage and traceability to development plans.
• Support requirements triage and release planning by selecting the right requirements for a software release.
• Participate in cross-functional planning to clarify intended functional behavior.
• Maintain Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback loops using post-market/customer satisfaction data, meetings, communities, and user groups.
• Build relationships with sponsor users and coordinate showcases to demonstrate progress.
• Partner with the Product Manager and Innovation Adoption Executive on early evaluation/adoption of VOC improvements.
• Travel to customer/partner sites, suppliers, trade shows, and other locations as needed.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of product and/or domain experience in the imaging realm.
• Strong technical acumen.
• Proven ability to translate business/user needs into requirements specifications, user stories, scenarios, and models.
• Ability to understand business processes/workflows and learn technical details in areas such as:
  • Network topology and security
  • Server stability
  • Operating systems
  • Relational databases
• Proven collaboration across cross-functional teams and with customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to identify and escalate gaps in solution understanding and viability.

Preferred

• Agile Product Owner certification.
• Cloud experience.
• Experience using UML diagramming tools.
