About the role

Role Overview

Product Owner for Lockheed Martin Space’s Classified Automation & Deployment team. Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for a mission-critical automation and deployment capability used across classified and unclassified environments.

Responsibilities

Define and own product vision, roadmap, and backlog for the deployment automation capability.
Translate business and operational needs into clear, prioritized development work.
Serve as the voice of the product: create clearly written requirements, facilitate product design, and champion releases.
Partner with stakeholders (Space executives, application development teams, Program leadership, classified system admins) to define, prioritize, and deliver enhancements.
Align product plans with company strategy and Business Area priorities.
Establish and maintain the product roadmap and Product Backlog in collaboration with the Scrum Master and development team.
Lead release planning and set expectations for delivery of new capabilities.
Gather and manage requirements for bug fixes, features, and larger initiatives from concept to release.
Groom and prioritize backlog items for Planning Increments and Sprint Planning.
Define acceptance criteria for features and stories and support sign-off on completed work.
Represent the customer voice during PI Planning, Sprint Planning, and Sprint Demos.

Requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Proven experience as a Product Owner/Product Manager or similar role supporting technical products.
Working knowledge of Agile practices, including Scrum and/or SAFe.
3+ years experience with container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, or Red Hat OpenShift.
Experience with automation platforms such as RunDeck and/or Ansible (or equivalents).
Ability to partner with engineering teams to translate business needs into technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Ability to manage product backlogs, prioritize features, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Willingness/ability to travel up to 25%.
