About the role
Role Overview
Product Owner (based in the United States) for a partner company in healthcare technology. You will shape product direction by owning and prioritizing the backlog while partnering with engineering, product, operations, and support to deliver customer- and business-aligned features.
Accountabilities
- Own, manage, and prioritize the product backlog aligned to strategy, customer needs, and roadmap initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with engineering on backlog refinement, sprint planning, story elaboration, and acceptance of completed work.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including PI Planning, iteration planning, reviews, retrospectives, and objective-setting.
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery by identifying risks and managing dependencies across multiple teams.
- Develop deep expertise in medical imaging workflows and digital healthcare capabilities.
- Work with operations and support to triage production issues, prioritize enhancements, and improve customer experience.
- Ensure privacy, security, regulatory, and compliance requirements are reflected in requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery standards.
- Support integration initiatives, process improvements, and platform enhancements for scalability and operational efficiency.
- Partner with Product Management to refine priorities and contribute to long-term product strategy and innovation.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a Product Owner or similar product-focused role.
- Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks and SAFe, including hands-on backlog and delivery process ownership.
- Ability to write detailed user stories, define acceptance criteria, and prioritize competing requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience working with distributed/international/nearshore engineering teams.
- Healthcare domain familiarity (health information management, medical records exchange, healthcare workflows).
- Medical imaging experience including PACS, DICOM, and image exchange.
- SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification (preferred; required within 6 months if not held).
- Knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare privacy regulations, and data security best practices.
