About the role

Role Overview

American Specialty Health is seeking a Product Owner II to join the Product Ownership department. You’ll work with stakeholders across the organization to create, groom, and prioritize a Scrum team backlog and drive functional solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product teams and other departments to assess, initiate, refine, and drive functional solutions
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into user stories for the Scrum team
  • Be present in all Scrum ceremonies and remain available to the Scrum team
  • Maintain backlog management, including iteration planning and story elaboration
  • Write clear, concise acceptance criteria for each user story
  • Plan and prioritize the product backlog and development work
  • Identify, manage, and prioritize cross-team priorities
  • Support final approval and acceptance testing
  • Communicate product strategy to stakeholders and team members
  • Mitigate non-technical impediments to help achieve Release/Sprint goals
  • Partner with engineering, UX, customer experience strategy, and design to ensure a high-quality experience
  • Incorporate stakeholder input into the product roadmap and negotiate tradeoffs using business/customer value
  • Act as the product expert for internal stakeholders; participate in inception workshops
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and issue analysis from users through resolution
  • Partner on delivery plans, testing, training, and support across teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience (high school diploma required if equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Ability to create, prioritize, and accept user stories
  • Ability to write clear acceptance criteria
  • Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong problem-solving skills; able to motivate and lead toward an appropriate solution and timeline

Remote Requirements

  • Must be trained remotely and able to work from home in a designated area with company-provided equipment
  • Stable internet connection with minimum 50 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up (recommended 100 Mbps down / 20 Mbps up) and ability to participate via video in online meetings

Salary

  • $69,200 to $90,000 full-time annual salary range (exact pay depends on qualifications and internal equity)
