Role overview

Product Owner – Enterprise Data (Agile Team, Enterprise Data & Analytics)

Translate business needs into data-driven solutions that are accurate, secure, and scalable. Own and prioritize the team backlog to enable incremental value delivery while maintaining both the conceptual and technical integrity of delivered features.

Responsibilities

Execution & Delivery (80%)

Collaborate with the Data Product Manager on feature creation and program backlog prioritization
Decompose features into story maps and deliver incremental value
Prepare for and participate in PI Planning
Execute against the product roadmap and PI priorities
Maintain backlog health and readiness across:
- new features
- defects
- technical debt
Work with analysts and engineers to define and prioritize backlog items
Manage and prioritize work flow to ensure consistent incremental delivery
Write detailed user stories with thorough, testable acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements
Validate story/feature completion and ensure adequate testing before release
Own delivery risks and coordinate with internal/external teams to mitigate them
Incorporate user feedback and usability studies/research to improve satisfaction
Partner with the Data Product Manager to analyze metrics and analytics for data-informed decisions
Anticipate bottlenecks, make tradeoffs, and manage risks to maximize customer and business benefit

Strategy & Planning (20%)

Champion the voice of the customer; develop deep understanding of customer needs
Understand the role of the data platform in delivering business value for customer groups
Contribute to a 12–18 month product roadmap and help prioritize business features
Own and maintain a six-week build-ready, prioritized backlog for one or more development teams

Requirements

5 years in a Product Owner (or like) role in an Agile environment
Progressive business analysis experience in areas such as:
- employee benefits
- financial services
- technology delivery
- related domains
2 years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, and/or business intelligence and/or related areas

Education

High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related field preferred
