About the role
Role Overview
As a Product Owner (Product Manager), you will help deliver a mission-critical pharmacy platform built from the ground up for a national specialty pharmacy organization. You’ll work fully remote with a dedicated development pod, partnering with pharmacists (SMEs), engineers, QA, and operational leaders to translate real pharmacy workflows into well-defined product stories.
Key Responsibilities
- Own a Development Pod
- Lead a pod with a Tech Lead, 3–4 developers, and a QA engineer
- Own a dedicated product swim lane within the overall platform development
- Define and Prioritize Work
- Ensure features and stories are well-defined and prioritized
- Maintain strong story hygiene and ensure tickets are properly tracked
- Translate Pharmacy Operations into Technical Requirements
- Design workflows across the prescription lifecycle, including:
- Order scheduling
- Prescription dispensing
- Pharmacist screening
- Fulfillment and shipping
- Operational hold queues and exception handling
- Work with pharmacy SMEs to ensure workflows reflect real-world operations
- Design workflows across the prescription lifecycle, including:
- Manage the Product Backlog
- Coordinate with engineering teams so Epics, Features, and Stories progress correctly
- Use Azure DevOps dashboards and Agile reporting tools to track progress
- Collaborate Across Teams
- Partner with engineers, QA, Scrum Masters, and project leadership
- Coordinate with pharmacy stakeholders and operational teams
- Support change management and product rollout initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager on Agile teams
- Experience supporting software development teams and managing product backlogs
- Ability to translate complex workflows into technical requirements and user stories
- Strong stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration
- Comfortable working with engineering teams building complex systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pharmacy, healthcare, or healthcare technology
- Understanding of pharmacy workflows / prescription lifecycle
- Experience working with Azure DevOps
- Background with enterprise systems or workflow-driven platforms
Additional Notes
- Fully remote with CST core working hours
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- W2 engagement only (no corp-to-corp)
- Greenfield pharmacy platform; system in final development phases with upcoming change management and rollout before go-live
