About the role
Role: Product Owner (Agile/Scrum)
You will own product outcomes end-to-end—defining vision, guiding delivery, and maximizing business value—while partnering closely with engineering, stakeholders, and scrum teams.
Responsibilities
- Product Vision & Delivery: Work with engineering to visualize and deliver solutions aligned to the product vision and requirements.
- Scrum Framework Leadership: Facilitate and evolve the scrum framework; manage the backlog and lead release plans.
- Backlog Management: Prioritize and manage user stories and defects to keep work meaningful, realistic, and attainable.
- Project Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and document delivery activities for large, high-visibility projects; adapt to changing scope.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with other product owners and scrum masters to shape product development strategy.
- Communication & Facilitation: Coordinate and communicate sprint/release progress, issues, and relevant information to stakeholders.
- Delivery Optimization: Use sprint planning to evaluate options and make decisions that maximize business value.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with steering committees, sponsors, customers, functional managers, and project teams.
- Agile Delivery & Continuous Improvement: Help teams commit backlog items to sprints and participate in post-live retrospectives to identify improvements.
- Value Advocacy: Drive alignment on objectives, scope, and deliverables for product releases.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in software product ownership.
- Balanced technical knowledge + business insight.
- Experience with Jira and GitHub.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum, including SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
- Ability to translate abstract ideas into detailed business/functional requirements.
- Ability to distinguish technology constraints from core business value.
- Excellent communication and storytelling; strong stakeholder management skills.
- University degree (or comparable experience) in CS, engineering, or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with clinical data workflows and transformations/integrations.
- Understanding of eClinical vendor systems and workflows.
